East Haddam Park & Recreation Youth Soccer Registration 2008
Before you know it summer will have come and gone and it will be soccer season. That's why we're planning now for the upcoming season. Please don't wait to register, fill out the form right now, send it in, and enjoy the summer. The sooner you register the better we are able to insure we have enough coaches to offer a quality program. The program is for children in grades 1 - 8. Cost is $10.00 per child. Coaches are needed for grades 1 - 8. A coaching clinic will be provided to help you learn the skills necessary to be a good coach. Please let us know if you are interested. All children must wear shin guards! They may wear sneakers or cleats. All children must be pre-registered to participate in the placement session, registration deadline is August 11,2008. The set-up will be as follows,
Grade 1 This is a parent/child instructional program (no formal teams or games). A parent, guardian, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, older brother or sister, or family friend must accompany the child and participate with them. This is an interactive program designed to promote the game of soccer and the understanding for all those involved. This is a great way to have fun with your child. The sessions will be on Saturdays from 10:30AM -11:30, at Old Middle School Field on September 15th - October 20th. This will be your only notification-please save the dates and times!
Grade 2 & 3 First placement session, Monday, August 18th from 6:00pm – 6:30pm at the Old Middle School Field. Second placement session, Monday, August 25th from 6:00 – 6:300 at the Old Middle School Field, children must attend one placement session. A coach will notify you after teams have been decided. Each team will practice once a week and play one game on Saturdays, beginning September 15th. They will play 7 games and conclude with a jamboree on Saturday, November 4th. Game times on Saturdays will range from noon - 4:00PM (approx.).
Grades 4 & 5 First placement session, Monday, August 18th from 6:30pm - 7:00pm at the Old Middle School Field. Second placement session, Monday, August 25th from 6:30 - 7:00 at Nichols Field, children must attend one placement session. A coach will notify you after teams have been decided. Grades 6-8 This program will begin on September 15th. We will practice as one team and hold scrimmages; there are no placement sessions. We will meet every Sat. from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Old Middle School Field. This program is for boys and girls. Please note this program is designed for those students who do not play on the Middle School Teams.
